P 71 - Vertical joint (patented)

Mechanic sealing system of vertical joints of prefabricated front panels. This type of "open" joint guarantees watertight and eliminates condensation.

P 71 jointing system consists of 3 elements:

  • 2 channel shapes incorporated in panels at the prefabrication stage (as guide)
  • 1 linking key placed in position on the building site during fixing panels (as proof screen)

This system eliminates use of sealant during works, and it is not necessary to assemble external scaffolds.

 

Special Properties:

  • Rigid special PVC, resistant and stable at 70ºC

  • Resistant to U.V. rays

  • Decompression chamber ensures joint ventilation

  • Rapid installation with wide tolerance: four types of standard keys for joints from 0 to 55 mm wide and laying possibility with flatness errors until 10 mm (fig. 10)

  • Price is fixed during planning

Terms of supply:
Profiles are supplied in straight strips (any standards keys type P25 and P35 are supplied in rolls of 25 m each).

It is possible to produce lengths on size subject to minimum quantities

CNO CHANNEL INSTALLATION ON METAL MOULDS WITH OVERTURNING LATERAL BODY SIDES


  • Mark the centre-line positioning the CNO P71 channel

  • Mark the position of holes to allow channel fixing pins through; these are placed on each side of centre 1ine, at 9.5 mm centres, pins at panel top and bottom are situated 5 cm from the mould ends; intermediate pins are placed as required so as to be not more than 30 cm or less than 3 cm apart.

  • Holes are drilled of 2.5 mm diameter

  • Pins are designed for sheet metal 4 to 6 mm thick. For moulds more than 6 mm thick use a reduction bushing (see drawing below).


  • Place pins in holes provided, so that they are positioned in the first notch (fig 1).

  • Push the pins home by hand (fig 2).

  • Place the plug in position at each end of the CNO Channel to avoid concrete infiltration

2. STRICKING OF MOULD

  • Remove the sides of the mould and breake the projecting parts of pins.

  • Remove CNO channel red strip, verify than no impurities are there, so CNO channel is ready to receive key profile.
























 

Installation on building side:
The joint is closed by means of a key which slides into the upper end of the channels – BEFORE THE PANELS ARE FINALLY ANCHORED IN POSITION – with the point of the V pointing inwards.

 

ACCESSORIES:

Retaining clips:

To prevent the connecting key from slipping, a retaining clips should be attached to the end of the channel.

 

If CNO channels are verticals, it is necessary to glue a flashing where joints are overlapped.

Flashing is not necessary if channels are oblique or curve.

Flashing is cold-glued with P.B.A. adhesive (1 kg for mq).


ETAMPONT:
Waterproof seal.
It is used when panel upstand is less than 7 cm.

COMPRIMOUSSE:
Cellular seal impregnated with resins or bitumen.
It is used when panel upstand is more than 7 cm.
